The purpose of this activity is to encourage groups of participants (students, teachers, staff, and community members) to identify, discuss, and deepen their understanding of sustainability and unsustainability in a local context. The walk can take place in any local environment — urban or rural, on or off campus, ideally outside, but can also include indoor environments — and explores what the local environment can offer as a basis for discussing and envisioning short- and long-term sustainability change.
